Alternative Payment Option for Professional Authors

If your piece was published by a major publisher or you are a full member of a professional writers organization (AG, SFWA, RWA/NINC, etc.) please contact us to see if your work qualifies for our no fees, royalty sharing option. We pay the highest royalty rate of any publisher we're aware of.

If we accept your piece, then we would would publish your ebook and pay you either:

  • 75% of net income if you supply us with error free .DOC files for the text and suitable cover art, or
  • 50% of net income if we scan the text from print and create cover art.

(As a third option, for do-it-yourself pro authors who have already created their own ebooks and are selling them via Amazon/etc., we offer the use of the ReAnimus Press store, for which we pay you 90% of sales through the store.)

Our philosophy and goal is to be as fair as possible to authors — we're authors ourselves.

Also, note that this option is strictly an alternative to the pure "payment for services rendered" payment method.

If you are a professional author and would like to elect the royalty-based payment method please drop us a line.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do you mean by "net income"?

What you expect; there are no tricks here: We pay you based on the amount we receive in hand from the distributors such as Amazon. Also note that if it sells on the ReAnimus Press store, we pay you based on the full amount — which makes the ReAnimus Press store great for links from your web site.

What if I'm not a pro author?

For authors who aren't yet professional, we regret that we can't offer this same payment structure. We absolutely hope your books do well. We really believe in the future of ebooks, and the belief that it's far better for society to have wider choice in what gets published than for traditional publishers to turn down books and cause them never to get published. There are lots of examples of books that were turned down by the major publishers that turned into great successes (Dune comes quickly to mind). So we want to be as helpful as we can, but also not lose money in case, despite everyone's hopes, things don't turn out. Please accept our apologies that we can't offer the no-cost option. We'd be pleased to help you using our standard payment-for-services pricing.
